Editing a PDF isn’t like editing a Word doc

A PDF fixes each glyph at a position on the page, which is why so many tools can’t touch the text — they’d have to re-lay the whole line. Pditor’s editor handles that for you: select a line, retype it, and it re-measures and reflows the surrounding text so everything stays aligned.

More than fixing typos

The same editor lets you add new text boxes, drop in images and signatures, highlight and redact, fill form fields, and reorganize pages. It’s a full editor, not a single-purpose tool — and the common editing path runs entirely in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.

Let AI do it

Open Chat in the editor and describe the change in plain language — fix a date, rewrite a paragraph, translate a section, redact a name. The assistant proposes each change as a card you approve, so nothing is altered until you say so.

Download, private

When you’re done, export the edited PDF straight to your device — or save it as Word, images, or PDF/A. Any file that does touch our servers auto-deletes within an hour.

Frequently asked questions

Can you actually edit text in a PDF?
Yes. Open the PDF in Pditor's editor, click a line of text, and retype it — the editor matches the font and size and reflows the rest of the line. You can also add new text, images, and signatures.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The editor runs in your browser using Pditor's engine compiled to WebAssembly, so there's nothing to install and the file stays on your device.
Will editing change the font?
Pditor matches the original font for standard and embedded-subset fonts. For unusual fonts it substitutes a close match so the edit still looks consistent.
Can the AI edit the text for me?
Yes. Open Chat and ask — "change the date to July 5" or "rewrite this paragraph more formally" — and the assistant proposes the edit as a card you approve before it's applied.
